Lochee United picked up another good win today in what was the most competitive league match at Thomson Park this season. Second half goals from Paul Scobie and Kevin Milne made sure of the win.

Not a lot of goalmouth action in the first half and to be fair Broty were looking the more likely to score, they were playing a quick passing game which at times we struggled to get into. Saying that Grant Adam was never called into any serious action. However Broty were slightly the better side in this first half.

Second period a whole different game with Lochee taking control and pressing for the opening goal, Broty were not as competitive as the first half and longer the game went on the more Lochee looked like scoring. After great play down the left hand side a lovely ball from substitute George Johnston found Grant Lawson who swept home what everyone thought was the opening goal however a fantastic one handed save from Diamond in the Broty goal denied him.

The first goal was not far away and after another sweeping move down the left involving Johnston and Cavanagh, Paul Scobie cruised through the middle to meet the ball and smash home past a helpless keeper to put the Chee one up. The second goal was not that far away once again the two subbies Cavanagh and Johnston were involved and it was nice to see the very hard working Kev Milne slot home to make it two nil.

A lot of pleasing things to take from this game, although not at our best the first half the team talk at halftime worked and we took a strong grip on the game. The two substitutions were inspired as Johnston and Cavanagh made a big difference. Really chuffed to see Kev Milne score again this week but my Man of the Match Paul Scobie’s goal was outstanding. Well done players and management !

Come on the Chee!
